The German Bundesliga has become an American hotspot in European football, with four players currently plying their trade in Germany encouraging the manager Bruce Arena to select them for the United States national team squad.

Bayern Munich aim to extend their lead at the top when they visit the Rhein Energie Stadion to face FC Koln on Saturday.

Wolfsburg parted company with manager Valerien Ismael, after suffering their twelfth league defeat of the season on Friday. The wolves have appointed Andries Jonker to help steer them away from the relegation zone.
The wolves enjoyed three promising seasons under Dieter Hecking but have struggled to replace their best players. In the 2014/15 season, Hecking guided them to a second place finish in the Bundesliga. Kevin De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic left at the beginning of the following season and Wolfsburg slumped to an eighth place finish. Arsenal’s European decline continued as German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich outclassed and condemned the gunners to a demoralising 5-1 defeat.
Arjen Robben fired the hosts into the lead in stylish fashion, with an incredible rising effort into the left top corner from 20 yards. Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to 9 points with an extremely late win at Ingolstadt.
